Immer wieder kommen Gerüchte auf, Karl May und Film.
Nun ist wieder ein neue Nachricht gekommen. Es soll ein neuer Karl May Film entstehen.

Wenn man „Winnetou Jay Tavare“ in Google eingibt, kommt man u.a. zu einer Besprechung des Films „The missing“, in der es [gleichsam ein wenig prophetisch anmutend] heißt

... altem indianischen Freund Kayitah (Jay Tavare). Während der gute Kayitah edel und sanftmütig daherkommt und ein wenig wie Winnetou aussieht ...

Markus Nispel will wohl von jedem Film, der irgendwann einmal populär war, ein Remake machen. Vielleciht stimmt ja die Kassa, aber bis jetzt hat er doch eher Schotter fabriziert.

Da will sich jemand mit einem Filmprojekt erkennbar interessant machen. In den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren wurde so etwas immer auf Parties verbreitet und unter der Hand an Filmjournalisten weitergegeben, die ihre Gazetten mit diesen Wunschträumen füllen konnten. Heute geht das "eigenhändig" per Internet und in Farbe. Dazu kann ich nur sagen: Die Musik zu dem Film ist schon geschrieben und stammt - von Martin Böttcher. Titel:"Die Ente klingelt um halb acht"!

Vielleicht ist es aber auch keine Ente, denn im Forum von Jay Tavare wurde nun bestätigt, dass nicht nur ein neuer Winnetou Film in der Mache ist, sondern dass sogar gleich mehrere Film geplant sind. Der Admin des Forums ließ offiziell verlauten:

It's true that there is a new franchise in the works on the Books of Karl May. And yes Jay Tavare is the new Winnetou!!!! This will not be a remake of the old movies, but a new take on the Karl May books and his characters. Shatterhand & Winnetou are like Tonto and Lone Ranger, and although they were romanticized characters, they did exist in the real wild west. Winnetou being of Mescalero Apache Tribe, yet the story is still more of an action fantasy than a western, making it more exciting in many ways.
We have been told this project is attracting some top notch names in all areas and promises to be a great project with more than one movie in the works. Great news for all Jay fans.
There is no start date for now, but by mid 2010 it could be in production. We will keep you all up dated as we get more info.

Action fantasy, klingt fast nach der äußerst umstrittenen und nicht wirklich guten Blueberry-Verfilmung. Ob das die richtige Richtung für neue Karl-May-Filme sein kann? Andererseits - die Hoffnung, eine möglichst buchgetreue Umsetzung zu erleben, wegen der notwendigen Länge im TV, dürfte aufgrund der einfach gewandelten Interessen des Publikums inzwischen einfach naiv und utopisch sein. Warum also nicht andere Wege gehen. Und es wäre natürlich fast schon ein wenig ironisch, wenn dieses Projekt umgesetzt werden könnte, im Vergleich zu den erwähnten Lone Ranger und Tonto. Die reiten seit einigen Jahren durch eine sehr erfolgreiche - bei Lesern und Kritikern - neue Comic Serie. Eine weitere Verfilmung geistert gleichzeitig auch schon wieder seit geraumer Zeit durch die unterschiedlichen Foren, immer wieder mit dem Namen Johnny Depp verbunden. Ohne nennenswerte Fortschritte allerdings. Dafür ist der Jonah Hex-Film fast fertig. Warum dann nicht auch Winnetou und Charly..

Ich habe jetzt die Produzentin des neues Filmes ausfindig gemacht. Es ist Sabine Niederberghaus-Lesavoy (Karl May USA), die seit Jahren hart an einer Neuverfilmung arbeitet. Auf Facebook hat sie folgende Mitteilung verlauten lassen:

To all the Winnetou Fans around the world:

I am a German born producer and business woman, who was raised like many of you with Karl May books and the wonderful movies of the 1960’s.

The impact of Winnetou on my young mind created such passion in my heart, that I have now acquired the international rights to create a new franchise based on these old books and movies. My first project “The Legend of Winnetou” promises to pick up where these old images left off. My project is an entire new take on the Karl May characters and stories.

I have recently returned from the Mescalero Apache reservation, where I made some wonderful friends and contacts with “The People”. My first task was to show “Winnetou” as authentic as possible and still keep the romanticized edge in our story. That is why I am seeking real council from the Mescalero Apache Elders and Medicine Men.

A new movie is in the works as we speak and my project “The Legend of Winnetou” will be the first of several films promising to give birth to a new legend for the new era, yet satisfy the die-hard “Winnetou’ fans such as myself.

The Legend of Winnetou is attracting a high calibar of talent in all areas here in Hollywood, and I can't wait to share more with you in the coming year... so stay tuned !!!!

Das sind also nun die Infos aus erster Hand. Bei dieser Meldung waren übrigens auch neue Fotos von Jay Tavare zu sehen, womit nun auch bestätigt sein dürfte, dass er der neue Winnetou ist.
