The Fleeds - Rosa (Schiff)

#1 Beitrag von Marlies »

Zufallsfund: The Fleeds (Greenock-made steam yacht - Sternau's Rosa (Schiff)) - Alt Schottisch Dialekt: fleed = flood. The Fleeds = Die Fluten (?) in KM's Sprachen-Universe. A long stretch, because 'fleed = flood' does not have the same meaning in old Scottish as 'Flut' in German (nur in Zusammenhang mit Ebbe und Flut.https://www.dsl.ac.uk/entry/snd/fleed
Ein Buch von 1897, Titel: “Fleed mark of the sea,” the turning point of the sea.
Also: Wendepunkt des Meeres / Flutmarke
